asked questions

There’s a lot of content on my website with little-to-no context. Here is where you’ll find the nuts and bolts!

What do you do?

I’m a commercial artist that leans heavily on a mix of design and illustration. I also dabble in screen printing, painting, and pottery when I can. Right now I’m a full-time freelancing with a focus in branding + identity.

My previous job was a designer and illustrator at Good Beer Hunting where we worked on a variety of branding, packaging, editorial, and strategy work (hence the large amount of beer cans on the site).

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO?

Mostly what you’ll see here! Personally, I find projects that involve folk and outsider art, nature + natural world, the occult, labor rights, social justice, pop culture, historical, and/or cultural subject matter to be the most rewarding.

HOW CAN YOU HELP ME NOW?

For starters, please reach me here to begin a new design proposal. There are 3 ways I generally approach projects; flat-rates for smaller projects, an hourly rate for a scope of work that’s undetermined or could run longer than expected, and retainer agreements for those needing some long-term concept and strategy. It all depends on what makes the most sense for you and your needs!

I noticed some work here doesn’t look like the brand that lives in the world. what gives?

There are a few projects on my site that are exploratory work. That design work was a real phase during the design process, created with specificity to the project, but ultimately wasn’t the right choice for the client. Sometimes that early exploration remains the direction I’m most proud of.

DO I HAVE TO SIGN UP FOR A FULL IDENTITY PACKAGE, OR CAN WE JUST MAKE, Like, A T-SHIRT?

We can absolutely make one thing! I put emphasis on the branding + identity work, because it’s the best example of projects that see a full life-cycle, with many facets of design being executed along the way.

are you taking freelance projects now?
